Pastor Richard D. Chaney
Richard Darryl Chaney grew up in Detroit, Michigan. He was educated in the Detroit Public School System, received his BA at University of Detroit Mercy and is pursuing his Graduate Studies at Marygrove College in the field of Pastoral Ministry. Under the leadership of the Late Elder Samuel Snow of Williams Street Church of God In Christ, Pastor Chaney was called to Ministry in 1976, and he preached his first sermon January 1, 1977. In 1993, after the passing of the Late Elder Samuel Snow, Pastor Chaney was appointed to Pastorate Williams Street Church Of God In Christ June 27, 1993 by Bishop John Henry Sheard.
On April 29, 2006, the church adopted the name, Faith Community Center Church of God In Christ. This name fully characterizes the spirit of the congregation and the history of our ministry. Pastor Chaney has seen the fulfillment of Ephesians 3:20 in his life and adopted it as FCC’s Scriptural Text. The scripture states “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.” God has also given Pastor Chaney the vision for FCC and its uncompromisingly clear. The central principle is, “We are a Faith Community called by God to evangelize the World winning One soul at a time for Jesus Christ!”
Due to the needs of the ministry as well as the ongoing growth of the ministry, the Lord moved on Pastor Chaney to lead the congregation to a new full service facility at 5225 Venoy Road in Wayne Michigan.
Richard D. Chaney is a retired Healthcare Executive with over 34 years of experience in the area of Health Care. He is also driven by his passion to give back and serve in the Detroit community. He was an active Member of 100 Black Men of Detroit, serves as a Board Member and Mentor for Big Brother, Big Sister of Metro Detroit and a Board Member for the Hope and Health Coalition. As a Superintendent, he supports Southwest Michigan First Jurisdiction in a number of Administrative Positions. Pastor Chaney continues to make extraordinary strides in the FCC Ministry. He is well respected among his Family, Congregation, across the United States, and Locally in the community. He is a man of integrity and full of the Holy Spirit
He married First Lady Patricia Ann Chaney on June 5, 1976 and they have two daughters, Catrice and Katrina.

Patricia Ann Chaney grew up in Detroit, Michigan. She was educated in Detroit Public Schools and received her BA from the University of Detroit Mercy. On June 27, 1993, after the passing of the Late Elder Samuel Snow, she became the First Lady of Williams Street Church of God in Christ. On April 29, 2006, she supported her husband’s vision to adopt the name, Faith Community Center Church of God In Christ.
First Lady Chaney served in various positions within the church and currently is the President of the Women’s Department. She holds a monthly chit chat session with the women of the church to encourage, educate, and uplift giving strength for their daily Christian walk. This virtuous woman is committed to God, her church and the community. She is an active volunteer with the Positive Images Organization that assists recovering women and families.
First Lady is retired with over 30 years of experience within the Health Care Industry. She married Pastor Richard D. Chaney on June 05, 1976 and they have two daughters, Catrice and Katrina.
